Sawyers Bay School is a semi-rural school on the outskirts of Dunedin with approximately 130 students. As a client for six years, School Principal Gareth Swete shares his experience with OneCall.

“Our account manager Mike is always happy to have a chat and is very knowledgeable about the equipment that’s he’s offering. He’s able to make recommendations of systems that could fit into our existing network”.

Principal Gareth Swete describes the communications system he required to improve the school’s communication process, and how OneCall were able to assist with the installation and management.

“OneCall provides our internal paging and bell system that integrate, and they run through out VoIP system, making it accessible from anywhere.

That allows us to not just use it for everyday tasks, bell change times but it also gives us a bit of reassurance that in the case of a lockdown, we can communicate with the entire school seamlessly. If there was an emergency or a power cut, we can still use our system based on the way that it’s set up with the back-up batteries we have.

We can still use it for communication, if there was ever an emergency, we’ve got quite clear communications with all classrooms without having to leave the office, or any other space we might be in”.

Gareth has recommended OneCall and the school internal paging system to colleagues in other schools which has benefited them greatly.
